The Voyage of the Scarlet Queen

The Voyage of the Scarlet Queen follows the adventures of the crew of the 78-foot ketch, "The Scarlet Queen," as it leaves San Francisco bound for the South Seas on a mysterious mission for its owner, Ku Chei Kang. In a typical episode, the Scarlet Queen makes landfall in a new port, the crew gets in trouble with the authorities or various forms of low-lifes, resolves the trouble (usually with at least one fight), then sets sail for the next port-of-call.

Some persons see this show as part of the inspiration for Star Trek, as each episode opens and closes with a log entry and brings a new set of supporting characters. The series ran in 1947 and 1948 on the Mutual Broadcasting System.
