Skippy Hollywood TheaterThe Skippy Hollywood Theater is a half-hour anthology series of original dramas sponsored by the manufacturers of Skippy peanut butter. Many of the leading entertainment figures of the day appeared in the series, such as Virginia Gregg, Lurene Tuttle, Victor Maturee, and Jane Wyatt. The series premiered in December 1941 and ran til 1949. The show was produced by Lee Mitchel under the auspices of C. P MacGregor Studios, which was responsible for many of the popular show of the era, including the Lux Radio Theater and The Shadow. MacGregor distributed transcribed shows using 16-inch transcription disks in the era before tape recording became widespread. For more information, see the Digital Deli Too.
