The Private Files of Rex Saunders

The Private Files of Rex Saunders features Rex Harrison as the suave and articulate private detective Saunders. The lead character narrates the stories in the first-person in a low-key and matter-of-fact way, which serves only to highlight the ironic turns that many of the stories take. The plots themselves are rather typical of the genre, but the quality of the performances raise The Private Files of Rex Saunders above the typical radio detective show.

The half-hour series was directed by Himan Brown, a premier radio director, and Leon Janney played Rex's sidekick, Alex. Guest stars included the likes of Anne Seymour and Jackson Beck.
