Nightwatch

Nightwatch follows the real-life experiences of police officers in Culver City, California. Long-time radio man Donn Reed, presenting himself to the audience as a police reporter, rides with officers as they investigate crimes and disturbances, following cases from first report to resolution. The stories are told in a low-key, stick-to-the-facts fashion.

Just as in real-life police work, many of the tales shed light on the darker side of human nature. The show is sometimes compared the TV's Cops, but, in my opinion, it happily lacks the superfluous bombast of that show.
