Mystery House

There were at least three radio series entitled "Mystery House." The first one, the late 1920s, appears to be completely lost.

The second one was a short-lived series starring Bela Lugosi and a series of famous actors that aired in 1944. The Thirsty Death represents the sole surviving episode of that show. As can be expected given Lugosi's presence in the show, that series tended towards horror and the macabre.

The third was created by Dan and Barbara Glenn, who owned a publishing house specializing in mysteries. Each episode purported to be an upcoming mystery novel and opened with Dan and Barbara discussing the new work. These represent the bulk of the episodes in this directory.

Many persons seem to have conflated Lugosi's series with the Glenn's series because of their having the same title, but, as far as I can determine, that is, as my old boss used to say, "in error"; they were two different series.
