Micheal Shayne

Micheal Shayne was a hard-boiled, hard-fighting detective in the tradition of Raymond Chandler's Phillip Marlowe. The feisty red-headed Irishman was created by Davis Dresser, who wrote under the pseudonym of Brett Halliday, and continued by various ghost writers after Dresser's death. Quite popular in his day, Shayne ultimately figured in 77 novels, 300 short stories, many films, and several radio and television shows.

The shows here are from the second Michael Shayne radio series, The New Adventures of Michael Shayne, which was produced for syndication. The half-hour episodes are set in and around New Orleans and star Jeff Chandler. The tales are narrated in the first person.
