Maxwell House Coffee TimeShows named Maxwell House Coffee Time ran in varying formats from 1937 until 1949. The episodes in this collection aired as a summer replacement in 1947. They are half-hour variety shows that commonly features a short comedy sketch surrounded by musical numbers and snappy patter. They are hosted by Frances Langford, who is also remembered as Don Ameche's somewhat shrewish and demanding wife in The Bickersons. I enjoy listening to this show. The commercials are particularly notable. Many of them are intertwined with songs, as the announcer wends his way to comparing a cup of Maxwell House coffee to a fine melody. Others are very much of the era: a recurring theme is that, if hubby doesn't like his morning coffee, it's wifey's fault and it's up to her fix it (by buying Maxwell House, of course).
