The Jack Carson ShowThe Jack Carson Show ran from 1943 through 1956 variously on CBS and NBC. The show's format varied a bit over the years, but generally portrayed humorous skits of Jack's "home" life, interspersed with musical interludes. Regular characters included his butler, Tristan; his nephew, Tugwell; and the neighbors. Jack plays a dim-witted bumbler who is usually the punchline in the show's jokes. Regular performers included Agnes Moorehead, Arthur Treacher, and Mel Blanc. An attempt to duplicate the radio show on television in 1954 lasted only one season. In addition to the radio show, Carson had a successful career in films, where he commonly played second bananas and side-kicks. For more information, see Wikipedia.
