I Love a MysteryI Love a Mystery follows the serialized adventures of Jack Packard, Doc Long, and Reggie York of the A-1 Detective Agency. Based in San Francisco, its motto "No job too tough, no adventure too baffling" opened the door to adventures from mysteries to horror stories. The show aired from 1939 til 1944 on NBC, then was revived from 1949 til 1952 on the Mutual Broadcasting System. Over the years, its format varied from 10-minute to half-hour episodes and, as was common with long-running radio shows, a number of different performers voiced the parts, including a Tony Randall and Gloria Blondell (as the agency's secretary), the lesser-know sister of Joan Blondell. The show was written by Carlton E. Morse, one of the premier radio writers of his day. Unfortunately, many episodes have been lost, but some of the lost episodes were recreated by Bud Carey and later by Jim Harmon. For more information, see Wikipedia.
