FirefightersFirefighters is a 15-minute serial following the adventures of rookie fireman Tim Collins, Chief Bob Cody, and their fire company. Aimed at a younger audience, the show won wide support among the firefighting community for its emphasis on fire safety. Because of the support and cooperation of fire departments, many of the plots are based on real-life experiences of firefighters. And not all the adventures involve actual fires; early in the series, the dangers of turning in false alarms forms a major thread. In fact, in one episode, someone does indeed yell "Fire!" in a crowded theatre. Produced by Cinncinati's William F. Holland Productions in 1948, the program was syndicated across the country in the late 1940s and early 1950s. Leading roles were voiced by Cameron Prud’Homme and by Lyle Sudro, who is best remembered for a decade long run on The Guiding Light. For more information, see the Cinncinati Fire Museum website.
