Father Brown

Father Brown features G. K. Chesterton's famous detecting parish priest as he solves puzzles large and small. Diffident in demeanor an hesitant in manner, Father Brown nevertheless has a knack for noticing details that others (including, in one episode, a very pretentious and overbearing Sherlock Holmes) overlook.

The character of Father Brown is based on Father John O'Connor, the priest who was instrumental in converting Chesterton to Catholicism. Andrew Sacks, who is best remembered as Manuel on Fawlty Towers, voices Father Brown in this BBC production that dates from the mid-1980s.
