The Fantastic Four

The Fantastic Four was a short-lived attempt to bring those Marvel Comics super-heroes to radio in the 1970s. The Fantastic Four are four friends and colleagues who gained superpowers by exposure to cosmic rays and use those powers to fight the forces of evil.

Stan Lee, a legendary figure in the Marvel Universe, served as narrator and Bill Murray, who is probably best known for the film, Groundhog Day, played The Human Torch. The half-hour episodes are fast moving and packed with action, but the show did not catch on and was quickly cancelled, I suspect primarily because, by the time the show aired, television had thoroughly replaced radio as a source for adventure series.
