The Epic Casebook of Inspector Carr

The Epic Casebook of Inspector Carr was a long-lived (1956-1985) half- hour mystery show from South Africa's Springbok Radio. Set in England, the series follows Scotland Yard's Inspector Carr to the solutions of many complex and sometimes bizarre murder cases. Several actors voiced the role of Carr, but by far the most popular was Hugh Rouse.

The "Epic" in the title refers not just to the cases, but to the show's sponsor, the Epic Old Company, a producer of cooking oils, margarine, peanut butter, and the like.

The show was exceptionally well-written and performed. Unfortunately, far too few of the episodes from its almost three-decade run have survived.
