Chet Chetter's Tales from the Morgue

Chet Chetter, morgue attendant and licensed embalmer, tells his tales of the macabre in Chet Chetter's Tales from the Morgue. The stories themselves lean towards science fiction and the supernatural, but don't cross over the line into horror. Rather, they are more towards outrageous and silly; but they have an internal coherence that facilitates the suspension of disbelief, more Addams Family than Tales from the Crypt.

Starting in 1989, the series was produced into the 1990s by Mark Sawyer and Jay Reel, trading under the label of M&J Productions. Ten of the 19 stories aired on NPR and a number of them were also broadcast in Australia and England. I tried to find information about M&J Productions on the web and discovered only that "M&J" is a very popular name for DJ couples who work weddings and parties.
