Can You Imagine ThatCan You Imagine That is a light-hearted 15-minute potpourri of oddball news stories and historical tidbits, often compared to Ripley's Believe It or Not. A typical show includes four to six topics covered in a combination of narrative or short skits, each with a surprising twist at the end. I found it quite a fun listen. I would note, though, that the stories are not sourced, leaving one to wonder whether some of them may have been--er--enhanced. I could find little information about the show on the internet; most of what I did find were clearly variations of the same original article. It's not even clear when the program aired, but my guess would be the 1940s. Indeed, depending on the site, the host's name was rendered variously as "Lindsey McCary" or "Lindsey MacHarrie" (I vote for the former based on listening to the show). Web searches for either name plus the word "radio" turned up nothing usable. Nevertheless, as I said, it's a fun listen. Series description provided by Frank Bell. |
