Biographies in Sound

Biographies in Sound was an hour-long documentary anthology presented by NBC in 1954 and 1955, featuring biographies of persons from politics, history, sports, and the arts. Subjects included persons as diverse as Ethel Barrymore, Danny Kaye, John L. Lewis, Carl Sandburg. Most of the subjects were from the first half of the 20th Century and appearances by persons who knew them were not uncommon.

The show was critically acclaimed and considered one of radio's finest efforts in its battle to ward off the looming dominance of television.
