Avalon TimeAvalon Time was a half-hour variety show sponsored by Avalon cigarettes, featuring comedy routines, music, and skits. Over its two-year run, it had four hosts: Red Foley, Red Skelton, Cliff Arquette, and Dick Todd, all of whom had red hair (the show also aired on the NBC Red Network). Skelton's first wife, Edna Stillwell, also had a regular part on the show. The show premiered as the Avalon Variety Show; the name was changed to Avalon Time when Red Skelton left the show to be replaced by Cliff Arquette in January 1940. Through early 1940, the show's ratings fell swiftly, and Todd had a short-lived stint as host for the show's last few weeks. For more information, see Wikipedia.
