An American GalleryAn American Gallery dramatized the lives of a wide range American artists, ranging from musicians to painters to performers. Subjects included persons such as Will Rogers, Benjamin Franklin, and Frank Lloyd Wright. A different show business celebrity introduced each episode. The shows are interesting, but a scent of hagiography is discernible in the presentations. The show was produced by the Armed Forces Radio Service (later renamed the Armed Forces Radio and Television Service). The show's production date is unclear, but, by virtue of the names of some of the celebrities who introduced the episodes, An American Gallery appears to date from the mid-1960s.
