The Alan Young ShowBest remembered as Wilbur Post in the television show, Mr. Ed, Alan Young was a regular presence on radio, television, and movies from the 1940s through the 1980s. In an interesting sidelight, he was the voice of Scrooge McDuck for 30 years. The Alan Young Show ran from 1940 to 1944 on Canadian radio, and then from 1944 til 1949 on U. S. radio, first on NBC, then on ABC, before moving to television from 1950 to 1953. The radio show featured sketch comedy, with awful puns and mind-twisting non sequiturs, as well as songs and verbal banter. On a personal note, I was and am still big fan of Mr. Ed, but, until I prepared these notes, I had no idea that Young had such a versatile and long-running career.
