Adventures by MorseAdventures by Morse was produced and directed by Carlton E. Morse, who was best known for One Man's Family, a serial that ran for over three decades, and for I Love a Mystery, which ran from 1939 to 1944. Morse was a prolific and well-regarded script writer and involved with a number of radio and then television series over the course of his career. Adventures by Morse features several serialized mysteries, ranging from three to ten twenty-minute episodes, featuring Captain Bart Friday and his sidekick, Skip Turner; they were set in locations as varied as San Francisco, the South China Sea, and a Dismal Swamp in South Carolina (not to be confused with the Dismal Swamp, which is about 20 miles from where I write this). During the relatively short run of the series, both Bart and Skip were portrayed by more than one actor. The episodes I listened to were quite well done. According to Wikipedia, there is some question as to the initial airing of the episodes. Many place them all in 1944, but the last two refer to World War II's having ended.
