Why have a members area and not just all free download?

Solution When we started the site, we tried just putting all the shows out on the home page. The bandwidth usage was just to much. Many people employ automated software that just goes around the Internet looking for .mp3 files, as this is the type of file that songs are in. These programs try to download every .mp3 file on the server as fast as possible. It is a terrible drain on the server's resources.

By having a password protected members area we have greatly reduced this problem.
