I've noticed that many of the 15 minute F&M episodes from '53 and '54 as featured on www.archive.org seem to have been recorded by someone in their home by microphone against a radio or CD player. They are quiet, not very clear (some pretty inaudible) and you can here the voices of the people who are making the recording and even coughing and telephones ringing etc.
I've noticed similar situations on The Halls Of Ivy and other shows.
Are these same shows available elsewhere from the original source as I like to follow these shows chronologically and find it really frustrating when I have difficulty understanding what's being said on some episodes. Thanks in advance! |

I don't know what it is about the later years of radio shows, but so many shows the quality is the worst toward the end of the run around 1953-55.
It's as though everyone had moved on to TV by then, and didn't care to archive the radio shows properly anymore, or something. |
