I joined the Old Time Radio Club on February 7, 2012. This is a fantastic idea and a great website.
I listened to all kinds of radio growing up. I heard the last episodes of Yours Truly Johnny Dollar and Suspense when they were broadcast on the CBS Radio Network in 1962. I thought my interest in the golden age of radio had left at that point.
Thanks to the Internet and sites like www.mysteryshows.com, my interest not only returned but became stronger than I could have ever imagined. I can't get enough of "the theater of the mind". Being part of this club gives me and so many others the opportunity to hear more shows from the 30s, 40s and 50s.
Through the old time radio club, I discovered many shows I never heard of. I have also listened to many series I first became aware of when they aired on regular over the air radio.
Thank you for the club and the website. I hope more people will get the opportunity through this club to listen and enjoy old time radio as much as I do.

As far as my favorites, there are so many however I really enjoy Boston Blackie, Dangerous Assignment, Richard Diamond Private Investigator, Gangbusters and Escape.
The great thing about all the shows I mentioned and the genre in general is that although these programs were broadcast a long time ago, they never become old or boring. |

I'm glad you're enjoying the club Larry. Thanks for the kind words. I added a new forum area called "Detective Shows" like you suggested. Welcome.
