I'm listening to Sherlock Holmes - BBC Audio plays. I just finished "Study in Scarlet" and "Hound of the Baskervills". What's everyone else listening to?

I am listening to 'Our Miss Brooks' (The Moving Van).
Eve Arden was great on this show & a great supporting cast, too!

Also am working on the 'Mask of Inana' series. Pretty good so far.

I'm listening to a BBC series starring Vincent Price called The Price of Fear. It's kind of a mixed bag. Some episodes are excellent while others are a bit shallow and predictable.

I haven't heard that one yet. Wonder if it's derived from Price's 1962 film House of Wax.

Nope, it's from a different story entirely. I don't want to say too much for fear of spoiling it for you, but it is a good story. I think I read it in a collection of Alfred Hitchcock stories when I was younger then later I heard Mr. Price in the radio story version.

Didn't that series do a version of the short story "Specialty of the House"?
I remember hearing it many years ago. Memorable chiller!

Yes, that's one of the episodes. I haven't heard it yet. My iPod seems to be bringing the episodes up alphabetically by title.

I am enjoying the Doctor Who series Hornets' Nest, although I've only heard the first two of the five stories so far ("Stuff of Nightmares" and "Dead Shoes").

After 28 years, Tom Baker is back as The Doctor.

I just downloaded that from radioarchive.cc a few days ago. Haven't gotten a chance to listen to it yet. Tom Baker was always my favorite of Doctor from the original series. Of course, David Tennant completely redefined the role.

Jingles' attempt to invent the washing machine has to be postponed when there's a murder nearby. Lively juvenile fare.

Theatre Five. April 7, 1965. ABC "Mirror, Mirror On The Wall".

Nicely written story stars Martha Scott as a woman whose old enemy (Father Time?) becomes a friend, and of his gifts that are hated, but eventually welcomed! Albert Miller (writer), Ted Bell (director), Fred Foy (announcer). Also stars Joan Lorring.
Amazing what you can fit into a 20 minute time slot.

Gale Gordon decides to raise chickens -- his lack of knowledge soon becomes obvious. Nobody made irritation as funny as Gale Gordon.

Cisco Kid “The Son of Whitney King” 03/12/53

A really nasty gang of desperadoes come up against the son of the Sheriff they killed. Fortunately Cisco is on hand to help out the forces of law and order. Rollicking western fare.

Jack Benny “A Day in Our lives” 03/21/37

Jack introduces the mayor of his home town Waukegan and stages a skit about his childhood days in which he plays his own father. Lots of laughs.

Maigret in Montmartre 1976-08-28

Maurice Denham is convincing as Chief Inspector Maigret in this drama of love, murder and drugs in the red-light district. I remember seeing this on the Rupert Davies television series back around 1961 - I think it was the first episode.

Tonight I listened to Dragnet The Big No Tooth 04/05/55

Full of vintage Dragnet moments - the robbery victim who was listening to an all-night radio host on one of those newfangled transistor radio sets, the plot twist obvious to anybody who grew up watching shows about profiling, and the hotel clerk who says to Friday and his partner "I never would have picked you guys for cops" !

Classic police drama.
