I'm sure there must be some good books about the subject of OTR and was wondering if anyone here had read any and had some particular titles to suggest.

The Old Time Radio Researchers Group puts out an excellent newsletter each month about OTR. Here is a link to their archived issues:

And of course there's the bible of OTR by John Denning "On the Air: The Encyclopedia of Old Time Radio". Here's is a link to Amazon for it:

The OTRR newsletter has such detailed info and lots of old ads as well as new information and ads. Once you look at an issue, you'll want to look at another.

Thanks Steve. I had forgotten about the newsletters. I think I borrowed a copy of the book from the library a few yrs back, but I could be getting it mixed up with another title. I wanted to look up about "the shadow" as I recall and couldn't. Someone had borrowed the book before me and ripped a chunk of the pages out of it.

Got my copy of "On the air" in the mail today. I got lucky and found a copy that was just over $30.00 with s/h costs.
