Hello, Folks:
I'm an author desperately looking for any information about a radio drama broadcast I remember as a child in the late '40's or early '50's. I'm taking pot luck that someone here may have some faint memory of this broadcast.
I can only remember the crime plot.
In the episode, a criminal plots to kill someone by blowing out the pilot light on the victim's stove and opening the gas burner enough to fill the apartment with gas. The killer leaves and locks the door. The victim comes home and enters his apartment, filled with gas. The villain, watching from a pay phone nearby, sees the apartment light turn on and immediately dials the victim's phone number. The clapper bell inside the victim's phone rings, making a normal tiny spark, as they all do when ringing. The spark sets off a deadly explosion. The crook is nowhere near the crime.
This story is critical to an event I am writing about. Being able to credit the show and it's writers would help tremendously.
Many thanks for any recollections you may have about this show.
