Hello. I am a new poster (looking forward to studying these threads). I stumbled upon this site while searching for scripts of old spooky/mystery shows from radio broadcasts, possibly to use for a reading. Does anyone know of where to find such material in the public domain? Thanks, and Happy Labor Day. Smile

Check out the Old Time Radio Researchers' Group (OTRR) Web site. They've got a scripts page at http://www.otrr.org/pg06a_scripts.htm that contains scripts from a number of different shows. they're mostly comedies, but they've got some "Escape" and "Quiet Please" scripts that might fit the bill. If not, shoot them an e-mail. One of their members may have something else that will work for you.

Of course, if you have a few hours on your hands and a little patience, you could always download an episode and transcribe it yourself while listening to it. It's a tedious task, but not too difficult. It would probably be helpful to begin by listening through it once, taking notes of characters' names and so forth, then playing it again to actually transcribe the dialogue. It would probably require frequent backing up and re-playing bits to make sure you've got it right.
