Our good friend Allen (the shadow) sent in some info about Philo Vance.

If the Voices of Vance and his Secretary sound familiar they should be, Vance is played by jackson Beck and His secretary (I beleive her name is Ellen) is played by Joan Alexander. Both of these personalities also starred in Supermay with Bud Collyer (later of Beat the Clock and other quiz ahows on television Fame). Bech was the narrator as well as playing Beanie the Daily Planet Copyboy and various other roles sometimes as a police officer and sometiems as a gangster. Joan Alexander played 'girl' reporter Lois Lane (who always suspected Clark Kent as being Supemanbut could never prove it).,

One other observatgion about Superman Jakie Kelk who played Jimmy Olson copyboy/reporter in Superman also stared as Homer opoisite Ezra Stone in The Aldridge Family.

Philo Vance is a fictional character in 12 novels written by SS Van Dine (pseudonym of Willard Huntington Wright), published in the 1920s and 1930s. Meanwhile, Vance was immensely popular in books, movies and radio. He was depicted as a stylish, even foppish dandy, a bon vivant, New York with an intellectual weak. The novels have been reported by his friend Van Dine.
