Alien Worlds is a great show. It's serious, adult oriented sci fi with a sense of wonder. Although it came out a year or two after Star Wars, it isn't all blaster battles as so much post-Star Wars sci fi has become. It's actually more like Star Trek in its sensibilities as it uses science fiction to address some serious contemporary themes. There's some fun stuff in there as well, including a two-part episode with descendants of Sherlock Holmes and Dr. Watson.

Brad, you can add this as a series synopsis, if you like.
