| Nope, sorry to say I haven't. Of course that isn't unusual considering how much OTR there is and how much was made back in the day. It looks like it just lasted about a year on the air at most too so it's not like there are a large number of episodes like with Dragnet or Gunsmoke either. Still from the description of the show it does sound interesting. |

| Visited again today and left a couple of comments. Enjoyed Judge Hooker picture. Would love to see a picture of John Brown (My Friend Irma, Damon Runyan Theater, Life of Riley, Ozzie and Harriet and on sometimes Halls of Ivy. I am sure many more. I think he was black balled during the McCarthy Hearings and faded out of the scene. You asked if we wanted to see things on your blog, so I am asking. Some paper clips about him would be great too. Not sure this is an easy task, but what the heck, I am asking. No matter what, I am enjoying your blog anyway! |

Thanks so much BB for your questions/comments etc.
When you say "he" are you referring to "Judge Hooker?"
I have listened to some Halls of Ivy - it's not bad but I find it kind of boring - however, that won't stop me from digging up what I can.
I also plan to get to the other shows yo mentioned. I have about 20 pages of notes I have made and that's really only about a 1/5th of what I have lined up.

Interesting Stuff going on there Jimbo. Incidentally Arthur Q. Bryan's voice is also known on television by a lot of people, though a lot of people don't know him by his actual name. He worked on the Looney Tunes cartoons with Mel Blanc as the voice of Elmer Fudd. Many of their cartoons were made during the age of radio (for the big screen) and were originally shown on the big screen. I can only imagine that a background in radio helped both men in their voice work for cartoons.
As for ideas for the blog how about a history note of some kind. Maybe something like on this week in (year) show x aired for the 1st time or something? |

AQ Bryan is the drunk professor in the back of the train in Hitchcock's film, "Stranger on a Train" who cannot provide an alibi for Farley Granger's character.
I'm finding out that many of these small bit TV characters in the 50's -70's were often bit players (or major stars - like Harold Peary) on the radio as well.
As far as your suggestion, I'd love to be able to do that but I don't know if I have the resources available to do such a thing.
I am thinking about doing a "this day in radio history" thing but I would miss some show entirely because they are undated/syndicated.
I have been trying to keep it interesting, trying not to focus on one show or idea. But in radio, all things are connected...
Please keep passing on the ideas!
