|As some of you may know, we have an Old Time Radio Facts blog. This is a different blog, not our news blog. I havn't had time to post much to it lately as I've been working on a lot of renaming projects with Mike and some of my own.
I've posted three articles I've written ( I also sent them to a bunch of article directories and got them posted there) and several other posts.
The blog is linked from our home page. Or you can see it here.
If anyone really enjoys writing and has a desire to write about old time radio shows and old time radio facts, you can post your articles here and I'll post them to our OTR facts blog.
The only requirement is that your posts be written by you and not borrowed from other old time radio pages on the net. I made the mistake of doing that when I first started the blog and got some emails from other webmasters to take the posts down, even though I sited the source. Others didn't mind, since I linked back to their site and that sends them web traffic. From now on, I think it's best to play it safe and just post original work. We don't want to get anyone mad at us.
The posts don't have to be any certain length. Any interesting facts about specific shows, series or old time radio in general will be great. Even one sentence is fine.
Example: Maybe write about when a series first went on the air and what it's about. Or something interesting about old time radio actors or who sponsored the show.
How will making these posts help our club and the preservation of old time radio?
1. Search engines will find these posts and help others who are interested in old time radio find our website.
2. Other OTR fans will learn interesting information about our hobby.
Please don't feel that you have to do this. This is just a club project for anyone who may find it interesting and enjoy doing it. The most important thing is to just have fun.
I appreciate everyone's help on club projects. But if you ever find any project becoming a drag or too much work, please don't feel like you have to keep doing it. Try another project or just stop working on it. I'll understand. This club is all about having fun, enjoying the company of other OTR fans and enjoying the hobby.
So, if you like to write and feel this would be a fun project, please post your interesting OTR facts here.
