|

Hello fellow Super-hero fans,
Born in 1955 I just missed the great radio age and grew up watching The Adventures of Superman on TV and reading comics. I of course knew that Superman had a radio show but never thought I would ever get to hear the shows.
But of even more interest to me was that I had read that Batman and Robin guest starred on many episodes. So naturally when I joined this site I began searching for those episodes first.
To save fellow Batman fans the trouble I made a list here of every episode I could find that guest starred Batman and Robin together with Superman.
"The Mystery of the Wax Men" (warning the last episode of this 3 part story is missing. What can you do?)
"Dr. Bly's Confidence Gang"
"Looking for Kryptonite"
"The Story of the Century"
"The Monkey Burglar"
"Batman's Great Mystery"
"The Secret of Meteor Island"
"The Voice of Doom"
There may be more. I haven't heard the whole series yet. If I find any more I will post them here. My thanks to the creator of this site once again."

| Thanks Simon Magus. I had heard that he guest starred, but that since he wasn't bullet proof etc. like Superman that his character never did quite take off and create a spin off series. |

| Don't mean to nit-pick, but "The Mystery of the Wax Men" is actually a 12 part series. I've found 4, still looking for the rest. |

Wow! There are 12 parts? Let me know if you find the rest anywhere else I would love to hear that one as it is the show where Superman meets Batman.
While we are on the subject over on the Batman site I heard "The Monster of Dumphrey Hall" from The Batman Mystery Club. I don't know if it ever aired but I believe it was another attempt to give Batman his own show.
Now I am not 100% of my facts but as I was listening I said, "Hey I know that voice." To me it sounds a lot like Lewis Wilson the screens first Batman. Can anyone verify this?

| I looked on Wikipedia for the episode, which directed me to a link of 'Robin in other media'. It mentions that Ronald Liss was the voice of Robin, but says nothing of who voiced Batman. |

| I've uploaded parts 2 & 3 of "Mystery of the Wax Men" using ftp, in the folder called 'glory77' if anyone wants to download. Hopefully Brad can add them to the Superman folder of shows. 4 down, only 8 more to find. |

| Here is a useful site for everything having to do with Superman. Including a section with plot synopsis for the radio serial. I thought some of our friends at the forum here may want to check it out if you haven't already http://superman.wikia.com/wiki/Superman_Wiki |

Asaki,
Welcome to the forum! I don't know much about this series. Can anyone help out here with Batman questions?

Ok excellent, thanks for listing these extra shows. I see on the Superman archives all we have all 6 of these shows. So I'll listen to them and let you know for sure if Batman guest stars.
Thanks again

Batman also shows up for just one show in THE SUPER SLEUTH. Batman needs someone to impersonate him and uses Bruce Wayne/Batman.
I think that Batman is "the original" Batman (in The Adventures of Superman series anyway) Stacy Harris - who did a lot of Dragnet on radio and television.)
Sometimes on The Adventures of Superman, he played Batman, other times, it was someone else.
He's one of my favorite supporting actors in radio and TV.

The Superman serial is currently running on "The Golden Age of Radio" every Sunday on WBAI New York. They also let you listen to the show on their website for a week after each broadcast. _________________ tuned in from down under |
