When I was young in the 60's, I had an old Motorola record player that played the 4 speeds: 16, 33, 45 and 78's. I was fortunate to have some 45's that my uncle gave me of old Christmas songs. Included in that was a musical version of "'Twas the Night Before Christmas" by Fred Waring and His Pennsylvanians. It was a faithful retelling of the Clement Moore tale and lasted about 6 minutes.

I do not know what happened to a lot of those 45's and most that I REALLY liked I have been able to replace through either CD's or the internet. But this Fred Waring song has always eluded me...until tonight. In the musical section of the club there are some Fred Waring programs. And smack dab in the middle of it all was a Christmas program with "'Twas The Night Before Christmas" in the title. The version of the song was so close to the record, probably recorded around the same time. It sounded like it had the same people in it and everything.

So thanks Brad and all who have made this club available, I know I'm gonna find many more treasures.

Oh, there's one more 45 that has eluded me and that's the Fontaine Sisters doing a song called "The Kissing Bridge". If anyone has a copy, I'd be grateful if you contacted me.

See you around the clubhouse.

Steve

Steve,

I don't have that song. Here is a link to a nice CD of theirs with 25 songs, including "Kissing Bridge" for under $11.00.
